From my life to yours...

"The greatest four years of your life," they say.

That's right, college. The craziest experience there is, and I'll be sharing all of mine with you. So whether you're a ninth grader thinking about the future or a long time graduate thinking of the past, this blog is where it's at. I'll tell you everything I know and everything I'm sure to learn about classes, parties, dorm life, and more. So hang on tight...

I've heard it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Tips and Advice - Class and Homework

So you're finally here - College. The moment you've been waiting for has finally arrived. Chance are you won't have classes the first couple of days after moving in, they will start up, though. And when they do, you need to be prepared. This isn't high school anymore, boys and girls. And while we've been hearing "They won't accept this kind of behavior next year!" since the first grade, it actually applies now. Things are different. Very different. So, to help you find your way in this mess of school and education, I present to you...

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CLASSES AND HOMEWORK

1) A lot of you may be thinking "Oh, I don't really see a point in going to my first week of classes. We won't be doing anything except going over the syllabus anyway." Go to your first week of classes! There are professors who WILL drop you because you didn't show up!

2) Bring writing utensils to your classes. ALL of your classes. You never know when you might one and you really don't want to be that kid without one.

3) Sit in front. Teachers will remember you better (And yes, that is a good thing).

4) Buy a good agenda book. You WILL have homework the first day.

5) Participate as much as possible. It's better than just sitting there awkwardly.

6) You will have sucky classes. Suck it up and try to pay attention anyway.

7) Don't wait until the last minute to do your homework! Literally nothing is more stressful.

8) Find ways to stay awake in lectures! I know it seems impossible, but figure it out! Write, doodle, drink water, throw spit balls, just STAY AWAKE!

9) Got a ton of homework to finish tonight? Do whatever is due soonest first. Work your way back from there.

10) Know how your library works before you try to print something...chances are it's different if you're a student there...

11) Try your hardest to understand teachers with thick accents...as difficult as it may be.

12) Please know at least the BASICS of geometry, algebra, and physics before coming to college. Brush up a week before if you have to. It'll make class a hell of a lot easier, though.

13) If you can afford it, get a new laptop before coming to school. Something small that you can take to and from class with you, because there WILL be classes where you wish you had it.

14) Lectures suck, but participating does actually make it a bit easier. Ask questions, take notes, anything.

15) Don't skip your classes for stupid things, no matter how much you want to.

16) Actually do your assigned reading.

17) Some professors WILL kick you out of class if they see your phone. Be wary.
