From my life to yours...

"The greatest four years of your life," they say.

That's right, college. The craziest experience there is, and I'll be sharing all of mine with you. So whether you're a ninth grader thinking about the future or a long time graduate thinking of the past, this blog is where it's at. I'll tell you everything I know and everything I'm sure to learn about classes, parties, dorm life, and more. So hang on tight...

I've heard it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Tips and Advice - Friends

Alight, so you're at a new school and chances are you don't know anybody. I sure as hell didn't. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have never been very good at making friends. It must be done, though! Having people to laugh with and talk to will make the transition into college (and the rest of the four years here) so much more bearable. So, to help you with this task, here is...

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COLLEGE FRIENDS

1) If you made friends at orientation (I honestly suggest going to orientation) meet up with them. It's nice seeing at least one familiar face that isn't from your high school.

2) It is okay to avoid people from your high school.

3) Go to the Opening Activities, no matter how stupid they may seem. And actually participate! Have fun with it. It's okay to act like a goof ball, it's much better than trying to impress everyone. These events are also perfect opportunities for making friends.

4) Sit with someone new in the dining hall. It is 100% better than sitting alone.

5) Take chances. Talk to that guy in your math class, say hi to the girl across the hall, whatever it may be. Just do it.

6) Get people's phone numbers! Make a new friend? Exchange numbers!! It may seem like common sense, but I've forgotten this a few times.

7) You like somebody. Cool. Don't know if they're in a relationship or not. Literally just ask. Avoid all the horrid confusion.

8) Take pictures! These are the days you look back on. At the same time, though, remember to be present; live the moment. Find the balance.

9) Have friends of the opposite gender that you can just talk to.

10) Go to your Activities Fair and sign up for freaking everything. It doesn't mean you're joining, just that you're going to get emails about when meetings are and stuff. Who knows, maybe you'll be bored some night and check it out. And, like the Opening Activities, it's a great way to make friends.

11) Keep in touch with your friends from high school or that you met over the summer. Snapchat and Skype are great ways of doing this!
